As of August 2018 the State of California has changed the requirements of the “Prop 65” law. We now must list on our website any possible chemicals the can cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive problem.

| I buy a lot of ICs in bulk. Op-Amps, 555 timers, onto-isolators, etc. I have made test circuits to weed out bad chips and test/grade the good ones. These ZIF sockets allow me to quickly go through a batch of new components. I also collect germanium transistors and diodes for home-brew guitar pedals. I use these sockets to test for hfe and junction voltage drops to match them up. They also allow me to quickly swap out different components in a circuit to determine what sounds best. When you have a lot of components to test, nothing beats ZIF sockets! | ||
